![]() No one can seem to pinpoint where this transmission is originating from. He's probably high on Jet or something but it might explain as to why these songs don't exist on record. ![]() 'Saint Brightside' claims that the songs he plays come from alternate universes. Sounds like a Three Dog wannabe though and that's not even the best part. He calls himself 'Saint Brightside', and he refers to the station as 'Quantum Bit Radio', whatever that means. That said, not a whole lot of historical records survived the war but it does raise questions.Īnd of course, there is the guy running this station. What's more is that no existing pre-war records indicate that such tunes were ever made. All sorts of music, only few of which resemble that of what is being played on GNR, Radio New Vegas, or any station on air. That alone is not strange, of course, but it's the kind of music being played. What's even more stranger is the content being transmitted. ![]() There seems to be a rather odd radio station being picked up by certain radios and pip-boys throughout the Core region, Capital Wasteland, and the Commonwealth (as well as the surrounding areas of each). ![]() This is your unseen DJ Saint Brightside, and allow me to brighten your day!" Yet they seem to have forgotten that it needs to have a great story with the toys in order to sell them figurines off the shelves as was the case with other memorable shows of the period like “Transformers” or “He-Man”."Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls of all ages, and welcome to Quantum Bit Radio, your source of lore-unfriendly inter-dimensional songs, from the Core region to the Capital, to the Commonwealth. The main goal of the show was to sell toys and trading cards to a mass audience. You could really care less about the characters or their situations which was probably not the point of this show to begin with. The character designs for the Garbage Pail Kids are just visually unappealing and uninspired to watch. The writing and the animation of the show is not good at all. What it all comes down to is that the show is not gory as some critics suggested…it is just really stupid. It seems odd in hindsight that parents would want the show pulled off from the TV considering the amount of animated infomercials already polluting the airwaves…but I guess this show was the last straw in that regard. The film’s tanking at the box office probably spelled doom for the planned animated series alongside other issues with parents. It was made to a live action movie based on the surprise popularity of the trading cards among certain audiences, but it went down as one of the worst films ever made. There was nothing special about the toys or the cards other than they were filled with toilet humor and gross out visuals. So it was quite a shock and an ordeal when the dreadfully fugly animated series “The Garbage Pail Kids” did not make it on the airwaves even though a full season’s forth of episodes were produced for the air.įor those who do not know, the franchise was made as a parody of the successful Cabbage Patch Kid toys from the same era. Animation Historian Charles Solomon hit the nail on the head when he noted “an unholy alliance between the studios and the toy industry” during the decade. In the 1980’s it was quite common to find studios producing animated films or cartoon shows based on popular merchandise.
